I have two of them in my apartment. It’s small. But they work well together. I use them to get rid of the smoke. I use the orange filters with them so far. The filters are pricey but worth it!

I’ve owned this filter for 3 months now and feel that I can give a fair review.
While this is not some super-filter that will eliminate odors or kill molds and bacteria, it’s not supposed to be, nor should one expect it to be based on either its description or price.

What it *does* is exactly what it is supposed to do: It filters dust and airborne particles from the air. I use it in a room 11×12 that is very dusty and in which we had lots of problems with sneezing and itchy eyes from whatever was circulating around in there.
I have removed the front cover twice in three months to check on it. I have on one of those occasions rinsed the crepe filter, as it seemed quite dusty, but have not yet needed to change the HEPA filter.

As far as sound is concerned, the low setting is barely audible, the medium setting is still unobtrusive, and the high setting makes what I actually find to be a very pleasant white noise. It helps me sleep better, actually, and helps drown out ambient noise. I am very noise-sensitive and I would not begin to call this unit “loud,” and frankly find such remarks puzzling.

My unit has gotten no dirtier than anything else in the room. I just dust it off when I dust the room and it looks great.

I can’t understand many of the complaints in other reviews, as I have simply not found those things to be true, or even if they are (it *is* audible and, well, yes, it attracts dust), they are simply the nature of this type of product. Of course it makes a sound and attracts dust. It’s basically a box containing a fan. Even so, it makes more noise than any other fan, and gets no dustier than any other object in the room.
If there’s an air filter that works by silently releasing magical sprites into the air which seek out airborne particles and transport them to another dimension in with a sparkly wave of their wands, while riding tiny unicorns about and dusting the room for you, I haven’t found it.

This little unit does exactly what it promises, does it well, and does it for a paltry $3x.xx investment. Great purchase. Get one!

Its great for small rooms and the Hepa filter works pretty much. In a large living room, you may not be able to tell. But I got a fantastic price so no disappointments here. Filter come out fairly dirty so it works.

This unit is bigger than I expected, admittedly I did not pay attention to the dimensions on the product page. I was more concerned with how well it worked and if it is going to still be working 6 months from now. Well it definitely works! I have been running one in a second bedroom/office where I smoke, the room is approx 12×12 and if I close the door it will filter every bit of the smoke out of the air but it does not happen immediately. I have the unit across the room from the desk where I smoke so the smoke fills the room before it reaches the filter. I intend to rearrange my desk area to move it closer. I noticed a marked improvement in the air after leaving it on med overnight the first night. The air was, lighter, it seemed easier to take a deep breath, almost natural to do so rather than having to focus on a deep breath. My husband said he couldn’t tell a difference except it was a good fan, the room was cooler. Yes it does circulate the air in the room, which is what you want to happen, naturally this is going to cool the air but not so much as to make it uncomfortable and actually I felt that when I placed it under the heating vent with the intake facing the vent it warmed the room by cirulating the heat from the vents better. Wish I could mount this thing directly under the vents on the ceiling.

I have ran this one for a week non-stop and still works great, no rattling or strange noises. I do not use the ionic option because I think it’s bad to breathe ozone, I was glad this machine allows you to keep that turned off. The fan on high sounds like a box window fan to me, it is a bit loud after a while because its constant sound, my husband said it sounded like a helicopter landing, I dissagree. I like the med setting the best, it works fairly well and clears the room of smoke in about 30-45 minutes and after about an hour or so its as if there was never smoke in the room. Low doesn’t seem to do much for short term, I think its good as a maintenance setting or for overnight as it is almost inaudible. I did like it for nightime with room closed up, the air was very fresh and clean in the morning. These are great for a clean fresh smelling home but they do take about an hour to make any difference. Definitely for smaller rooms or close to the source of pollution such as smoke. I bought one for each of my kids and I bought a larger one (

Holmes® HAP726-U True HEPA Allergen Remover for Medium to Large Rooms

) for my husband in our bedroom. he does have allergies and he did say he could breathe better after it ran for just several hours, I have high hopes. One note on the larger unit it definitely makes the room a lot cooler. I tried this unit in our bedroom and my husband said he could not tell any difference in his allergies. That was only one night though and the bedroom was way too big for this untit and the air had never been filtered prior to that so it had a lot going against it.

We have a very dusty house thats about 15 years old with the original carpets. 3 large dogs inside and we used to have 2 cats inside about 2 years ago until my husbands allergies just couldn’t take them anymore. I honestly feel these were a good investment. I can tell a difference and so can my family. Oh also my daughter and her boyfriend stayed in the spare bedroom and they both reported that they slept very well, even the boyfriend who has trouble sleeping. They both said they didn’t wake up all stuffy and coughing like usual. So there was better results in the smaller room where the unti had been running for a week already.

Its too early for me to report on the dust and durability but I have confidence this brand will last from all the great reviews I read from several sites. I highly recommend. I also bought the double pack replacement filters when I bought the units.

Very good air purifier. This is the 2nd one of these I have owned & they last a long time, work well, easy to take care of, low noise level. Will buy again when needed.
